For directions etc. see Contact Us COMPANY PROFILE Founded originally in 1878 by Samuel Hutchins, Hutchins and Green builders have left their mark around Oxford over the years. Many houses in Oxford bear their name on the manhole covers - the builder's trademark of yesteryear, and virtually all of the Oxford Colleges have had major building works done by Hutchins and Green at some time. Hutchins and Green has moved forward with the times, and is a stable and established company with turnover in each of the last 5 years of £1.7 - £2.5 million. The company operates several other business divisions to compliment the main construction business. The Contracts Division encompasses the construction and refurbishment contracts - the core business of Hutchins and Green. Many of the contracts are for Local Authorities, University Surveyors and Health Trusts, and the company also works extensively in the private sector, building anything from factories to houses, doctor's surgeries to major house extensions. The fully equipped Joinery Shop manufactures high quality timber products in soft and hardwood - from standard products such as doors, windows and shop, bar and restaurant fittings to specialist projects such as pergolas and bridges. Raven Architectural Glazing is the trading name of the Glazing Division which was founded in the early 1980's, and is an approved manufacturer and installer of a full range of aluminium, PVCu and timber window, door, safety glazing and curtain wall systems to both commercial and domestic clients. The Hutchins and Green yard, offices and joinery shop still occupy the same site as in 1900 in Southmoor Road, Oxford, but the technology, equipment, methods and training used by the company are in line with the 21st century. The company has a reputation for a high quality of both work and service to its clients. There is a wealth of experience of project management, site management, trades and crafts directly employed by the company, and many managers and craftsmen have been with Hutchins and Green for over 15 years, keeping the experience in-house. The company has a strong commitment to Health and Safety and an enviable Health and Safety record, and is fully committed and resourced to fulfil its obligations as Principal Contractor as defined in the CDM Regulations 1994.
