Hutchins and Green Limited is a medium-sized general building contractor based at our offices and yard in central Oxford. We undertake commercial, industrial and private contracts for public and private clients with contract values from £50,000 to £1.5 million including new build, extension, conversion, alteration and refurbishment works as well as design and build and management/enabling contracts. We operate within a fifty mile radius of Oxford.
The company has high standards of work and service which is reflected
in the volume of repeat business from our clients. We have developed a reputation
for success with complex and involved projects indicating the depth of knowledge
of a larger company, yet still retaining the ability to be reactive and flexible
in the manner of a much smaller company. There is a strong commitment to Health
and Safety and as a result, the company has an enviable Health and Safety record
and is fully experienced in the role of Principal Contractor as defined in the
CDM Regulations 1994.
The management team, supervisors and tradesmen all possess a high
degree of experience, training and intelligence for their roles and ongoing training
ensures that they keep up to date with developments within the industry. Our managers
are all IOB qualified and experienced within the construction industry, as are
our Site Managers who are CIOB Site Management Diploma qualified and all our tradesmen
hold City & Guilds Advanced Craft or NVQ Level 3. We also have well-established
partnerships with like-minded subcontractors and we have developed excellent working
relationships with the many professionals involved in the construction industry.
The management of Hutchins and Green has been kept "in the family"
since 1951 when Peter Ravenhill joined the company as a Quantity Surveyor and
progressed to Managing Director. His son, Paul Ravenhill joined the company in
1978 and succeeded his father as Managing Director on his retirement in 1990.
